From the SIFL: Dancer Spotlight - Katie Stubbs, Austin Lady Cats
Posted on June 23, 2009
Katie Stubbs is the only member of the Lady Cats who knows what it’s like to be a true Austinite. Stubbs is the only Lady Cat who was born and raised in Austin, Texas.
She brings 20 years of experience to the squad and has studied a variety of dance forms including ballet, tap, jazz, pointe, modern and hip hop.
She graduated from James Bowie High School in 2004 where she was a 4-year member of the dance team. During her senior year of high school she was nominated Most Outstanding Dancer, Homecoming Queen and Nicest Female. She has brought that same charming and friendly personality to the Lady Cats where she is frequently involved in community and promotional events.
After high school she attended Austin Community College for two years then transferred to Texas State University – San Marcos. As well as being one of the most active members of the Lady Cats, she also works full time at LifeTime Fitness as a coordinator for kids activities.
Katie was recognized on Monday as part of the SIFL's Spotlight Week. You can find this original story here and all of the other spotlights on SouthernIFL.com.
