Turfcats Announce 2010 Schedule

AUSTIN, Texas - The Austin Turfcats of the Indoor Football League (IFL) officially announced their 2010 schedule, which will be the team's inaugural season in the IFL. While the overall IFL season begins on February 27th, the Turfcats will join several teams from the two Lonestar divisions in taking early bye weeks - with the Turfcats beginning their campaign for the 2010 United Bowl on the road on Sunday, March 14 in Corpus Christi.

During the 2010 season, the Turfcats will play 14 regular season games. The team will compete against the Arkansas Twisters, Corpus Christi Hammerheads, and San Angelo Stampede Express in 8 divisional games as a part of the Intense Conference's Lonestar East division. Following the season opener against the Hammerheads, the Turfcats will travel to Arkansas on March 20, then take a final bye week before the Amarillo Dusters come to Austin for the home opener on Friday, April 2 at the Travis County Expo Center.
Following a home game against the Abilene Ruff Riders on April 10, the Turfcats visit the West Texas Roughnecks on April 17 return home to face the Hammerheads again on April 24.
The month of May brings the bulk of the Turfcats' home schedule, starting off May 1 with San Angelo. The Roughnecks come to Austin on May 8, before the Turfcats travel to Abilene on May 15. The Turfcats return to Corpus on May 23 to face the Hammerheads for the third time, and will return home to host Arkansas on May 29.
The Turfcats wrap up their road schedule with a trip to West Texas, facing San Angelo on June 5 and Amarillo on June 12, before returning home to close out the regular season against Arkansas on June 19.
Turfcats home games begin at 6:30 PM, with the exception of the April 2 game which will begin at 7:30 PM. Season tickets are available now, starting at only $55.
