RICHMOND, Virginia - The Indoor Football League office and representatives from each of the 25 IFL teams will converge in San Antonio, Texas January 12th-15th for the 2010 IFL Pre-Season Meetings. The meetings will be hosted by the historic Menger Hotel, located adjacent to the Alamo and San Antonio Riverwalk.
The meetings will consist of two sessions, one pertaining to owners and the other applying to coaches. A wide variety of topics will be discussed at the meetings, including: review of the league Operations Manual and Rule Book, expansion policies, national TV plans, officiating, and finalizing a playoff format of the 2010 season. "2009 was a successful inaugural season marked by tremendous growth in the off-season," stated IFL Commissioner Tommy Benizio. "These pre-season meetings will give the league a chance to discuss the upcoming season and set the framework for future plans which will continue to make the IFL the Premier Indoor Football League in America."
"Off-season meetings are a rare opportunity to get members from all 25 teams in one central location," added Assistant Commissioner Robert Loving. "There is no substitution for face-to-face interaction which allows a great deal of business to be conducted in a short period of time."
